November and December Blast into Reading

Submitted by julia.murray on

“Blast  into Reading” is this year's library theme.  Each month a few Faculty and staff members will be highlighted as they looked back in elementary school with their favorite book. November and December have been the fifth grade team, Miss Peery and Miss Wood.

Art City Has a New Entrance

Submitted by julia.murray on

As you come into the building at Art City Elementary you will  notice that we have had some changes made to the front entrance.  There is no longer a classroom door in the entryway.  We now have new double doors that are open in the morning before school and locked once school begins.  Now when you enter the school, you can go directly into the office to check in or check out your child.  All students will be able to enter the office area from the lobby.  Thank you Nebo School District for helping Art City improve student safety.

Santa was seen walking through the halls and visiting classes at Art City before Christmas break.  He even let a few students ring his bell.  Thank you Santa for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit Art City Elementary School.

Polar Express in the Second Grade

Submitted by julia.murray on

Walking the halls of Art City on Friday December 17th you could hear the giggles of children as they were creating Christmas art, playing games and reading their favorite Christmas books.  In the second grade, they used their imagination to ride the Polar Express to the North Pole.  Thank you teachers and parents for making this such a fun day!

Art City Elementary welcomed another dad to serve as one of our "Watch D.O.G.S" on December 16th.   He was able to spend time in his child's classrooms, wander the halls, help in the lunch-room and make sure students crossed the street safely.  Thank you for your service!
