Art City Elementary Scool and Brigham Young University (BYU) are partners in teaching and developing amazing teachers, in doing so Dr. Brad Wilcox, Professor of Literacy for the Education Department at BYU, came to Art City two Fridays.  The first week he modeled how to teach a literacy lesson, his students observed him, then they met and discussed what worked and what didn't.  The BYU students then had the opportunity to write a lesson plan and present it in groups of 3-6 sixth-grade students.  Dr. Wilcox said, "I can show them (BYU Students) powerpoints and videos of how a lesson should go but it just is not the same as when you go out into the classroom and see how it works, then to apply it yourself and seeing what works and what does not work."
