A Disaster Shelter Live Tour & Preparedness Fair will be held on September 16, 2019, at the Nebo School District's Summit Center. The Red Cross will be setting up a shelter and will provide a free meal for the first 400 attendees. There will be preparedness classes which you can sign up for. Mrs. Makin‘s class had the opportunity to get to know each other this year by spending a few minutes with each other in their artifacts marketplace. An artifacts marketplace is a speedy show-and-tell, but just one student presents their artifact at a time. Everyone had a great time!
The Uplift Parenting Conference is the initiative of First Lady of Utah Jeanette Herbert. Five presenters will be giving Tips Talks. Presenters include: David Osmond, Brad Barton, Jessie Funk, Collin Kartchner, and Clay Olsen. Topics range from resiliency, addiction recovery, social media, and anxiety. Meet the Art City Elementary School lunch ladies. Alyc'e Johnson is our lunch supervisor and clerk. Everyday she will greet you with a smile as you enter your lunch number. Alyc'e is from American Fork, Utah and now lives in Mapleton, Utah. She has four children and five grand children. Her favorite thing to do is to go camping.
