This year's theme is "What is your Story?" Reflections is a program that encourages students from all grades and abilities to be creative. The work is then submitted, and cosidered by judges in six categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. Students may enter one in each category. The Deadline for Art City Elementary is October 14, 2016. For rules and entry forms visit 2www.utahpta.org/reflections. Please encourage your budding artists, writers, photgraphers, dancers, filmakers, and composers to participate.
Art City Fourth-grade Students have an opportunity to go to a Symphony on September 30, 2016. We ask that the students dress nicely--symphony dress. (If you're not sure email your students' teacher).
This week Miss Wilzbach's second-grade class learned about what characteristics are. They learned that all characters have characteristics that make up who they are. They are on the outside and the inside. Outside characteristics are what a person looks or sounds like. Inside characteristics are who they are and what they have on the inside. Both kinds of characteristics are important because they make us who we are!
Friday September 16th, Mrs. Dunn's third-grade class, celebrated and learned about the Constitution of the United States. In celebration of the Constitution they made various patriotic pictures.
For science today, in Mrs. Bird's 6th-grade class, each group was given a challenge to come up with a non-traditional (non weapon) invention for the rubber band. Each group must present their invention to the judges (class) just like the TV show Shark Tank.
