On September 11, 2014 The United Way and US Synthetics came to Art City Elementary school in Springville Utah to read to the first and second-grade classes, read and figure out math with the third-grade; and learn how to be problem solvers in the fifth and sixth-grade classes.
In the sixth-grade students were taught problem solving using a plan, do, check and act analogy.  They talked about how it is okay to fail and to start over and try again.  They made hypothesis to help solve a problem and to figure out a plan to do it better next time.
After spending time in the classrooms the US Synthetics employees went outside cleaned the gutters and painted activities on concrete spaces on the play ground for students to use during their recess. Richi helps organize volunteers for the projects chosen. “Twice a year, in March and September, US Synthetic employees will volunteer thousands of hours working in local schools and local community organizations to improve our community. Employees will clean parks, read with children in the schools, build homes and participate as teams and departments to do good in our neighborhoods.”
“US Synthetic supports dozens of local community organizations and educational institutions, particularly those organizations where our own employees are involved. We give tens of thousands of dollars to these local organizations each year.
Employees can request that US Synthetic contribute to these organizations through the “Community Giving” form. We have supported public school PTO programs, Habitat for Humanity, local Law Enforcement, Eagle Projects, science outreach and after-school programs as well as local humanitarian and health organizations such as food banks, cancer research and multiple sclerosis etc. in Utah County”
