Art City Second-Grade Classes Celebrate Civil Rights

Art City Elementary School, on Wednesday January 27, 2016, celebrated Martin Luther King and Civil Rights with a Second-grade program. The songs that were sung included: "Ain't no Mountain High Enough," "Make them Hear You," Lean on Me," "We Got the power," "There can be Miracles." "This Little Light of mine" and "True Colors." The program focuses on those people who have made a difference in our world. It started around Martin Luther King then expanded to Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, and Jackie Robinson.  Students then performed for their parents on Thursday evening. 

Peace Prize Winners of Art City Elementary School

After the Second-grade program students at Art City Elementary school were awarded Peace Prize winners were announced: Lucy Child, Dacia Alcanter, Joshua Reynolds, Rachel Hubbard, Maia Kurtschshite Abdula, Morgan Nielson, Saige Collins, Lizzie Taylor, Keira Chipman, Ryker Wood, Sam Barson, Afton Ogles, Olivia Moffitt, Braelyn Newbury, Carly Gooch, Will Hammond, Lily Holladay, Tyson Jensen, and Richmond Durfey. Art City Elementary School has been awarding students as Peace Keepers for the past twelve years.

Spelling Bee Rules

Parents and students, the rules for the Spelling bee are found in the link on this page.  The school spelling bee is on Feb 9th at 9:00am in the gym; parents are welcome to come and watch, please sit in the chairs provided at the back of the gym. 

The Great Artist Picaso

Art City Elementary School is participating in The Great Artist Program.   This week as you walk the halls you will see samples of "Picaso's" Art.  "The Great Artist Program is a volunteer-based, turnkey elementary art education program for grades K–6. Our Elementary Art Program uses the great artists of the past to inspire and teach the great artists of the future.
