Fifth-Grade Wax Museum

Art City Elementary Fifth-grade students held their annual wax museum on Thursday March 28th, in conjuction with their program, after singing patriatic songs they set up for their Wax Museum.  Fifth-grade students dressed up as famous and important people or characters in America’s history.  Some of the characters from history that were seen included, Helen Keller, Dave Thomas, Wild Bill, Betsy Ross, Albert Einstein, Grandma Moses, Maria Thatcher, and Charles Schulz, just to name a few.

Fifth-Grade Celebrates thier American Heros

Art City Elementary School Fifth-grade dressed as their American Heros and sang Patriotic songs which included:  "America Is,: "This is My Country", "You're a Grand Old Flag/Yankee Doodle Boy", and "God Bless the U.S.A." After the students sang they presented a flag to Mrs. Teresa Winkler, she is sending it to her husband who is serving in Afghanistan.  Officer Winkler will fly it over Afghanistan, then when he returns in May it will be flown at Art City Elementary school, then will be placed in a case and put on display at the school.

Britt's Book Store

Come to Britt’s Book shelf!  When?  On the last day of each month.  Where?  Behind the office by the Sixth-grade classes.  Who?  Everyone is welcome;  How? You can buy a book for 25 cents or you can trade a book for a different book.

Mom's, Muffins, and Math in the Third-grade

Art City Elementary School, Springville—the Third grade classes had a “Moms, Muffins, and Math Morning,” on Friday March 22, 2013. Moms came in and the students showed their moms how they could do math while enjoying a muffin. Moms were wowed by the activities and games their children were engaged in. Even Miss Murdock's mom, Janine Murdock, took time away from Springville Jr. High to be a "Mom". Thank you, moms for taking time out of your busy mornings to come and do math with us. 

Kindergarten Registration for Next School Year

Do you have a child who is Five or going to be Five by September 1, 2013?  Registration for next year's Kindergarten will be held on the following days:Tuesday, March 12, 2013, for the Spanish Fork Area Schools; Wednesday, March 13, 2013, for Payson, Salem, and Santaquin Area Schools; and on Thursday, March 14, 2013, for the Springville, Mapleton Area Schools.  Your child should be Five years old before September 1, 2013 in order to enroll in Kindergarten.  You will need to bring with you the following items: A Record of immunizations, his or her Birth Certificate, and Proo
