This week (Wednesday and Thursday) our school is participating in the annual World Record STACK UP! event! The World Record attempt is for the “Most People Sport Stacking at Multiple Locations”. The goal is to beat 752,632 people Sport Stacking. Your child is being counted in this RECORD BREAKING ATTEMPT!

The Art City Halloween Parade will be on Friday at 2:15pm. Students will parade around the outside of the school for parents to watch! Please see the attached map for our parade route.
Each month Mr. Cornwall will celebrate teachers and staff who are going above and beyond what is expected of them at Art City Elementary. October Staff Members of the Month are: Makayla Thomas, Analisa Stewart, Jamie Stewart, Julia Murray and Kathy Anderton
Teachers and staff at Art City have nominated students for our Top Eagle award! Each month, one student from each grade level will be recognized for going above and beyond during our Stand Strong assembly. They received a prize and certificate. A sign will also be put in the student's yard. Good job Eagles!
Each month Art City teachers select two students from their class who have demonstrated Stand Strong behaviors. Stand Strong Students of the Month are outstanding examples of positive character traits and have shown that they are safe, respectful, and responsible. Way to go to our October Stand Strong Students!!

Mrs. Howard's second grade class learned about ancient Chinese civilizations and celebrated the Chinese New Year on October 1st. Students had lanterns and dressed like Phoenixes.
The theme for Art City Elementary School this year is Level Up to Excellence! On Friday, October 10, Art City had their first "Level-Up" day. Mr. Cornwall, Ms. Jordan, Mrs. Park, and Mrs. Fuhriman went around the school to celebrate all of the students who "leveled up". Good job everyone, keep on keeping on and leveling up!
Art City's first grade has been learning about Ancient Mesopotamia's farming, cities, writing, leaders, and religion. As part of this unit first graders had the opportunity to make a clay tablet and write their name on it in cuneiform.

Art City Elementary fourth grade were treated to a fun and informative field trip at the Springville Power Department. They learned electrical safety. They were amazed at the size of the electrical generators that run our city and then were able to do some hands on electricity experiments. A big thanks to Springville City!
Art City Fourth Grade visited Gordo’s Fun Farm. They learned about growing pumpkins, saw the animals, rode in the train, and played in so much corn! Thank you to Gordo’s for hosting our field trip!
