Teachers and staff at Art City have nominated students for our Top Eagle award! Each month, one student from each grade level are recognized for going above and beyond during our Stand Strong assembly. They received a prize and certificate. A sign will also be put in the student's yard. Good job Eagles!
Each month Art City teachers select two students from their class who have demonstrated Stand Strong behaviors. Stand Strong Students of the Month are outstanding examples of positive character traits and have shown that they are safe, respectful, and responsible. Way to go to our January Stand Strong Students!!
We want to congratulate Art City's participants in the Nebo School District Keyboarding Contest for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders! Quite a few students from Art City were chosen to compete in the competition and one student was awarded the golden keyboard.
Art City's second grade classes were able to attend "The Cat in the Hat" at the Scera Theater. One of their favorite parts was when Thing 1 and Thing 2 made a giant mess on the stage!
Art City's fourth grade classes wrapped up their CKLA geology unit by doing several activities. They painted rocks, built earthquake resistant structures, and made fossils.
Don't forget the Family Glow Party PTA Fundraiser tonight from 6-8pm at Art City! Enter through the South-East doors. Suggested donation: $25 per family/$5 per person. $10 glow shirts available. Glow concessions, dinner, and silent auction.
On January 7, 2025 Art City had a special lunch visitor to go along with their hot dog lunch! The students and staff had a good laugh at Mr. Cornwall dressed as a hot dog!

Nebo District is offering a mental health screener for students on the evening of January 13, 2025, at Mt. Nebo Middle School from 4 pm to 8 pm. We will be using Terrace Metrics software to measure mental and emotional strengths, as well as screen for anxiety, depression, trauma, and suicidal ideation of students in grades 6-12. Students in grades 3-5 may participate to be screened for mental and emotional strengths, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Please click on the link for more information:

Spring Creek Middle School Choir and Orchestra performed for the students at Art City Elementary School on Tuesday December 17, 2024. Thanks for coming to perform for our school!!
Vocal Motion Show Choir of Utah County, came to Art City Elementary on Friday, December 13, 2024. Vocal Motion is a children's choir that performs and creates original arrangements for live shows and music videos. Brittany Bennett is the owner and director, and Ben Di Girolamo is a director who works with the Junior and Senior Companies. The students had so much fun watching them perform!

Buddy the Elf visited Art City Elementary school on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Buddy and his helper visited all of the classes, sharing sweetness and Christmas joy.
Eight students from Art City Elementary participated in the 2024 Reflections contest this year. All eight students received an Award of Excellence and have advanced to the Council level.

Arts for Utah sponsored a Hip Hop Assembly on Wednesday November 20, 2024. The group taught the students that Hip Hop is a culture that began in the Bronx, New York. They taught them the elements of Hip Hop and then taught the four elements of Breakdancing.
On Monday, November 25, 2024, in honor of Native American Heritage Month, Mrs. Begay from the District Title VI program, came to Art City Elementary School to share some of their cultural traditions with the students. Students watched the grass dance, butterfly dance, earth dance, jingle dance, and super exciting hoop dance! Two of the dancers attend Art City!
On Tuesday November 26, 2024, Art City Elementary celebrated their second annual Turkey Strut that Mr. Cornwall introduced last year. Students who wanted to “strut” their stuff competed in their classroom. One student from each class, first through fifth grade, were invited to strut for the school. Six high school students were asked to judge the students.
Students roared with laughter and cheers when the teachers shared their talents. “It’s for the children”! Good job everyone!!
