Art City Student Council Elections

Submitted by julia.murray on

Art City Elementary has a student council.  Each year, students in sixth grade have the opportunity to run for a spot on the council.  Student candidates are required to complete many tasks including five service hours, a 250 word essay, and obtain recommendations from teachers and parents.  The week of the election student candidates have the opportunity to create a poster that depicts what kind of council member they will be and to pass out stickers or flyers as they campaign.  The final day of the election the student candidates deliver a speech expressing why they would make the best council member.
