It Pays to Read!

It Pays to Read! Art City Elementary celebrated reading on Friday, January 22, 2010 with an assembly that pays the students for reading. We want to thank WW Clyde for their generous donation to make the “It Pays to Read” assembly possible. We had a special guest “Chief”, from the Ken Garff Road to Success Program, help the students as well. Each month students read and turn in a slip for every 100 minutes they read. If their name is drawn they are invited to choose four teachers to help shoot baskets. For each basket there is a dollar value: $1, $2, $3, $4, and $5, the most anyone student can make is $15.

Our winners are as follows, (picture is not in order):
Kindergarten--Carlitos Cornejo, Bradlee Shandrel; 1st grade--Cody Creighton, Todd Gooch; 2nd grade--Kyle Soter, Ammon Elzinga; 3rd grade--Adia Hunter, Porter Olsen; 4th grade--Cooper Murray, Emily Linder; 5th grade--Ashton Buffo, Trysta Moala; 6th Grade--Garrett Carr, Justin Richmond.
