At the end of October Miss Murdocks class had a harvest celebration. They harvested pumpkins and lots of carrots from their school garden. Students estimated the length of the pumpkins circumference, estimated the weight, and estimated how many seeds it had. They sorted the seeds and counted them by using groups of 10. They counted 672 seeds in one pumpkin!

Celebrating a Hero Ted Murray

Submitted by julia.murray on

Here’s to our Heroes at Art City Elementary School. Ted Murray, resident and employee of Springville City, has been mowing the Art City Elementary fields for over 20 years. Ted is a hero to Art City because he comes every Wednesday to mow the field. He takes time to move the equipment up to the building. He takes pride in every lawn that he mows, when he mows the football field he is careful to have every line just right so it looks good for game night. His grandchildren also think he is a hero. Thank you, Ted for all of your years of hard work and service.
