Judy Luther--Crystal Apple Recipient for 2012-2013

Judy Luther was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and spent her early childhood there and loved it!  During her school year ages she lived in Springfield Illinois, the Land of Lincoln.  Judy attended Rick’s College and BYU.This is Judy’s fourth year teaching 1st grade.  She taught music for three years before teaching 1st grade.Judy’s mom inspired her to become a teacher.  Her mom would often tell her she had a talent with children.   She had a very nurtured childhood and was encouraged to have a love for learning and creating at an early age.

Fifth-Grade Wax Museum

Art City Elementary Fifth-grade students held their annual wax museum on Thursday March 28th, in conjuction with their program, after singing patriatic songs they set up for their Wax Museum.  Fifth-grade students dressed up as famous and important people or characters in America’s history.  Some of the characters from history that were seen included, Helen Keller, Dave Thomas, Wild Bill, Betsy Ross, Albert Einstein, Grandma Moses, Maria Thatcher, and Charles Schulz, just to name a few.

Fifth-Grade Celebrates thier American Heros

Art City Elementary School Fifth-grade dressed as their American Heros and sang Patriotic songs which included:  "America Is,: "This is My Country", "You're a Grand Old Flag/Yankee Doodle Boy", and "God Bless the U.S.A." After the students sang they presented a flag to Mrs. Teresa Winkler, she is sending it to her husband who is serving in Afghanistan.  Officer Winkler will fly it over Afghanistan, then when he returns in May it will be flown at Art City Elementary school, then will be placed in a case and put on display at the school.

Come to Britt’s Book shelf!  When?  On the last day of each month.  Where?  Behind the office by the Sixth-grade classes.  Who?  Everyone is welcome;  How? You can buy a book for 25 cents or you can trade a book for a different book.
