The Golden Rule

Students at Art City Elementary had the opportunity to learn what it means to treat others the way they want to be treated during an assembly on Monday February 2, 2015.
“Attention, Magic and the Golden Rule.” Was the name of the assembly put on by Steffan Soule, he is a master of magic. His work is recognized with a Kennedy Center Award for the Arts. Steffan Soule showed the students and faculty how we can use our attention to apply the Golden Rule.  His magic effects were stunning and some of them were dangerous, a few students were invited up to the stage to help.  This performance was sponsored by the Golden Rule Project and the Utah Arts Council.
"The purpose of the Golden Rule Project is to share the principle of the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” in schools and communities in Utah. Since 2003 we have concentrated our efforts on providing arts-based educational experiences for schools and other service organizations. It is through the arts that imagination and visualization connect us with the powerful principles of the Golden Rule. Our anti-bullying magic assembly, “Attention, Magic, and The Golden Rule” allows us to engagingly demonstrate this universal principle and tackle the issues surrounding bullying.  The Golden Rule Project is not associated with any church or religion; it embraces universal principles of kindness, compassion and concern for others from many cultures and centuries."
