Art City Celebrates Veterans

Art City Elementary celebrated Veterans by having BYU's Air Force ROTC share their ceremonial performance as well as a slide show of those representing our community.  When asked to stand if the students had a mom or a dad serving in the military, about 30 students stood.  It touches your heart to know the sacrafices these men and women make to keep our country safe.  Thank you Veterans for all you do.

"Our purpose is to go out and inspire," Lanham of BYU AFROTC said. "We like to go out and kind of bring their thoughts to the men and women who have given their lives wearing the uniform we wear."  Of the many under-class cadets to join the AFROTC program each year, the Drill Team draws students who want to stand out in the program. What some may not realize is the broader impact the team can have on a young cadet's development. Not only does the opportunity sharpen a cadet's ability to properly hold a rifle and salute, it also allows them to give back to the community.  "It's one thing to be spinning rifles, but it's another thing to go out into the community and inspire people,"
