Art City Chess Tournament Results 2020
The Ninth Annual Art City Chess Tournament was held on Saturday, January 25th here at Art City Elementary School. There were 111 students, representing 21 Schools from Springville to Santaquin who participated in the tournament. There were about 200 supporters to cheer them on. We want to thank all those who helped in any way to make this tournament a success. The team results of the tournament are as follows:

BYU Dunk Team Visits Art City Elementary School
BYU's Dunk Team came to the school to remind kids to be "Cougar Strong". Being "Cougar Strong" means being kind to others and working hard to do good in school. The students had a lot of fun participating in the activities, cheering for each other and for the dunk team.

Second Grade Celebrates 100 Days of School

Art City Students Attend Student Day At BYU
Art City Elementary School had the opportunity to attend the BYU Women’s Basketball game on Thursday, January 23, 2020. First through sixth graders were all able to go. The students had fun watching the game and enjoyed trying to get on the jumbotron. Students and teachers want to give a shout out to BYU for a fun and exciting day!

Springville Jr. High Choir Visited Art City Elementary
In December the Springville Jr. High school Choir came to Art City Elementary School. The Choir sang Christmas songs and their traditional song “Bum-Bitti-Bum.” The Jr. High students led the elementary students in a Christmas round called, “Chop-Chop, Shovel-Shovel”. The students really enjoyed participating with the choir. The choir ended with the song, "One Candle" to help students remember to share their light and help others. Thank you Springville Junior High School Choir! Art City students enjoy your visit every year!

December Students of the Month have been recognized for going above and beyond school expectations. These students have also demonstrated "Stand Strong" behaviors by showing they are safe, respectful, and responsible! Great job!
