Submitted by julia.murray on

Dr. Word visited Robin Wheatley's First Grade class on Wednesday December 2nd. Dr. Word taught about contractions and counting by fives. She took two words and performed an operation by removing letters then using “surgical glue” joined them together to make a new word (do not, becoming don't).
In the afternoon the doctor cut apart a hundreds chart and using the surgical glue sticks, made a new counting by fives chart. When the students in Mrs. Wheatley's class could count to 100 by five they received a smiley face.
