Art City Elementary (Springville) School’s Third Grade classes celebrated on March 10, 2011, by traveling through time exploring musicals through the years that help express feelings of love, desire and expectations. Some songs included “If I only Had a Brain”, “Oklahoma”, “Seventy-Six Trombones”, Put on a Happy Face” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Good job third grade.

Art City Elementary School, Springville—the Third grade classes had a “Moms, Muffins, and Math morning,” on Friday March 5. Moms came in and the students showed their moms how they could do math while enjoying a muffin. Moms were wowed by the activities and games there children were engaged in. Thank you, moms for taking time out of your busy mornings to come and do math with us.
The Nebo District chess tournament was held on Saturday March 6, at Cherry Creek Elementary School. The Top ten schools are as follows:

The Second grade at Art City Elementary school is learning about animals and the cycles of life. As a kick-off to begin learning about animals a representative came from the Bean Museum showing a few reptiles as well as a patch of elephant skin and other birds and animals.
Art City Elementary School, on Wednesday March 2, celebrated Dr. Seuss day by eating green eggs and ham, creating “Cat in The Hat” hats, and reading. The students brought blankets pillows, and books, lots and lots of books. Dr. Seuss’s Birthday was celebrated on this day as many students across America read.
The Sixth Grade students at Art City Elementary School, Springville, recently had a “College-Career day”. Parents came in and shared what they do and what some of the careers are for them to choose from. There was a Kick Boxing demonstration for those who may be interested in teaching Kick Boxing. There was a Child Development class, a mom shared treats a story and gave each student a balloon “Baby” to care for the rest of the day . . . not many survived past the first hour.
