Mrs. Larsen and Mrs. Luther's third-grade classes had a special visitor come, they had Springville Officers come, after reading a story in our Journey's book that talked about service dogs, Areo and Officer Mike demonstrated how they can find things that do not belong in a school or other building.
Mrs. Karen Burton's Transitional Kindergarten class love to sing the National Anthem. They went to the office to sing for Mrs. Muirbrook. (Please go to the Facebook page, on the right side under "Visitor Posts" and click on the camera icon).
On Thursday April 13, Art City second-grade students had the opportunity to go to Harward Farms. They learned how plants grow, how they take care of animals and they even had the opportunity to see some baby pigs.
On Thursday April 25, 2017 the First Grade walked to the Springville City library. They learned about how the library works day to day, how to get a library card, how to return books, and all about their summer reading program! It was a great day!!
On Thursday April 20, 2017 all of the 6th-grade Orchestras came together at the high school for a Monster Concert. This is Art City Orchestra students at the Monster Concert (during the rehearsal break)! Miss Priday said, "They did a wonderful job, and I am really proud of them". The March Students of the month are as follows: Kindergarten: Briana Davis, Keenan Toure; First-Grade: Elena Sosa, Jaxn McNeil and Gavin Claybaugh; Second: Gabe Sentz, Joshua Rynolds, and Rachel Hubbard; Third: Levi Olsen, Christian Almanza, and Elizabeth Robbins; Fourth: Jaiden Weaver, Aaron Rynolds, and Taige Larsen; Fifth: Audrey Swank, Haven Smith, and Sam Guitierrez; Sixth: Brianna Copieters, Lilly Binks, and Jesus Serrano.
Chess Club had their final party, showing off most of their hardware that was hard earned this year at various tournaments including District and State Chess. Art City placed fifth-place at the state tournament this year. Congratulations for a great year.
A representative from Utah County gave a presentation to the 4th grade students about storm water. They showed them how the water cycle works. They learned about what happens to our water when we pollute without realizing it and how pollution enters our drinking water. They also learned ways to avoid polluting our water systems.
Students in the second-grade learn about the continents through our the world. The Living Aquarium visited our second-grade classes and talked about the differant plants and animals that live in our world.
