Kindergarten classes at Art City were able to enjoy some of the same activities that pilgrim children enjoyed. Students washed clothes on a washboard, sewed a button and played old fashioned games. They also learned about Native Americans. They popped popcorn, ground corn, made a pot with clay, read stories, and made beaded necklaces. The smile on their faces said it all. Mrs. Morgan, Miss Orton and Mrs. Heath would like to thank all those who helped.
Congratulations to Art City Elementary School, in Nebo School District, and their school PR Ambassador, Julia Murray, for earning the Nebo #Hashtag Award. This award is given to the school that communicates to their parents and students, in a variety of ways, the events and important news items happening at school. Art City Elementary has posted 28 stories this month and 76 stories for the last couple of months with 157 stories this past year. The school also has approximately 190% of their student enrollment connected on social media to get the latest news from the school.
On Thursday, November 17, Art City's fifth grade classes participated in a world wide Stack-up using Speed Stacker Cups. Students did the Indianapolis 500 for threes and six stacks, played Everyone is It and then they created anything they wanted. The tallest tower was well over six feet tall however, it collapsed before getting a picture of the finished tower.
