Scales and Tails visit Art City Elementary

Submitted by julia.murray on

Art City Elementary School had the opportunity to have Scales and Tails Utah come and share several of their “creatures”.  Caleb showed an alligator, tortoise, python, lizard and a scorpion, some students as well as teachers did not care for all of these creatures and would have to go out in the hall or to the library.  When Caleb put the scorpion in his mouth a few teachers and students were gagging.  Caleb emphasized many times that the way he became interested in reptiles and these other creatures is by reading books, when he wanted to know the different types of lizards he would read a book, when he would want to learn about snakes he would read a book, and when he wanted to know the difference between an alligator and a crocodile he would read a book.  Caleb started with Scales and Tails because his mom heard a commercial about the company, knowing his love for creatures she encouraged him to work with something he loves.
