Art City fourth-grade students had the opportunity to go to "This is The Place Heritage Park" as they learn about Utah in the upcoming months it gave them an opportunity to appreciate what things the first pioneers had to experience when they came to Utah.

This is the Place Heritage Park is set up to enhance the Utah history curriculum, they have set up a "life in Pioneer Times" field trip.  The program consists of hands on handcart experience. The children will discover firsthand what it was like to come West with a handcart.  Next they'll experience a pioneer school where they will learn the Deseret Alphabet. Mind your manners and come on time, or you may find yourself wearing the dunce cap.  They may meet our blacksmith in his actual working shop, or visit our "resident" mountain man in his camp, or discover what happens in a Saddle Shop.  Or even visit the Native American Village where they may learn more about the culture and traditions of the Utah 5 tribes
