Art City Fourth-grade Students have an opportunity to go to a Symphony on September 30, 2016.  We ask that the students dress nicely--symphony dress. (If you're not sure email your students' teacher).

Each school year the Utah Symphony provides an outreach program for all 4th-grade students in Nebo District. Classroom teachers receive materials to help students prepare for this formal concert experience. These materials are based on the Utah State Music Core Curriculum, as is the performance itself.  Before attending, the fourth-grade teachers give students a little introduction to the music and the composers.  Students will listen for mood created by a musical passage, expand their vocabulary of adjectives and adverbs that might describe a mood, and incorporate those into a short story inspired by Bernstein’s Overture to Candide.
