Art City Third-grade Visits Utah Lake State Park

Submitted by julia.murray on

On September 27, 2012 the third-grade classes from  Art City Elementary School had the opportunity to go to Utah Lake State Park.  While on their trip to Utah Lake State Park, the 3rd-graders met with Ranger Allen, who told them what park rangers do and how to stay safe while having fun outdoors.  The students went through the visitor's center and learned about the history of Utah Lake.  They learned about how people used the lake in the past and how we use the lake now.  They also learned about resources and animal species in and around Utah Lake.  They were able to go on a nature walk with Ranger Gibson through some wetlands.  They talked about animal habitats and how to find evidence of wildlife.
