On Wednesday October 19, 2016, Art City Elementary fifth-grade students had the opportunity to go to Thanksgiving Point to the Museum of Natural Curiosity. Mrs. Ann Makin, fifth-grade teacher, said "The students had a blast on their field trip to the museum of Natural Curiosity. They climbed rope bridges, found their way through mazes, played in the waterworks and composed drum solos. This field trip was definitely two thumbs up!"
"At the Museum of Natural Curiosity they involve students in an inquiry-based science exploration in one of four immersive and unique venues. At Water Works, students explore science with water, wind, sun, and earth; at the Discovery Garden they learn about nature and the six simple machines in the Archimedes Playground; in the town of Kidopolis, you’ll discover secret passageways and perform tricks at the magic shop; and in the Rainforest, students explore the ancient ruins and chambers, crawl inside the 45-foot-tall monkey head, and pretend to fly the Piper Cub."
