Green Ribbon Week

Green Ribbon week is designed to promote health and safety.  

Monday: Parents and students signed pledges to stay safe while walking to and from school each day.  That means that they will walk on sidewalks, only cross streets at intersections and cross walks, look both ways before crossing the street, wear a helmet when riding a bike or a scooter, and wear a seat belt when in a car; parents pledged to be aware of pedestrians and drive the speed limit or even under the speed limit.

THEME: "Let Your Imagination Fly"

DEADLINE: October 2, 2015

CATEGORIES: Dance Choreography Film Production Literature Photography Visual Arts Music Composition

IMPORTANT: Students must turn in a registration form with an artist's statement. This statement explains how the piece of art relates to the theme. Judges rely on this in the judging process.

"Pirates Don't Change Diapers" Kindergarden Students Don't . . .

Mrs. Morgan's afternoon Kindergarten class read the Book "Pirates Don't Change Diapers" by Melinda Long and David Shannon; then talk about what Kindergarten students don't do as part of their first week of school and learning what procedures they can do.  They also create a "pirate" image of themselves.

Please remember the Watch D.O.G.S.  meeting Changed to 6:30 p.m Thursday, September 24.  The PTA is excited to launch a new program this year called Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students). The program allows fathers and father figures to take a day off of work and spend it helping out at Art City! Look for more information to come.
